Feeling Good Out and Good In

Easy Off, Easy On?

I’m not going to lie, for the time that I have spent away from this blog I was eating clean and exercising but I did fall off the wagon more than once. One of those ‘more than once’ times, was in fact this past week. I was in California visiting my husband’s family and trying very hard to stick to my no processed sugars and no dairy regime but I finally cracked on Friday and it only went down hill from there.

Who knew what pull processed foods full of sugar, artificial flavors and colors could have on one person?! Well, I know this! I am not stupid, in fact I consider myself far from stupid and yet here I sit, feeling uncomfortably full and not to mention very guilty for treating my body as less than the temple that I believe it to be. I have made my mistakes and this trip off of the proverbial wagon is one of those mistakes.

The silver lining though? That this crash has made me once again realize the importance of maintaining yourself, both outside and in, so that you can be truly at peace and able to live as full a life as possible and enjoy the people, places and things that help make you who you are.  Sometimes, there is little that we have control over in our lives (although that is always hard to understand and swallow); however, taking care of ourselves and being knowledgable of our choices as they apply to our own bodies and the way we lead our own lives… that we have control over.

I am not perfect, I would not want to be. I am real and I will make mistakes and I will learn from them.
